Royal Oak Wins Derbyshire Traditional Pub of the Year 2010 Award

14 November '10

On Monday 8th November 2010 we attended the prestigious awards ceremony that were held at Thornbridge Hall and are now the proud winners of Derbyshire Traditional Pub of the Year 2010. The awards are organised by Visit Peak District & Derbyshire Destination Management Partnership (DMP) which is the official voice for tourism in the Peak District and Derbyshire.

Judges from the Quality in Tourism Team, CAMRA and other industry professionals make mystery visits to each of the shortlisted venues. We have for the last two years been in the finals so we are delighted to receive this award and it is a great credit for our delicious fresh food and friendly, yet professionally led service in our beautiful location. It is lovely to get this recognition.

Derbyshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Councillor Simon Spencer, said: “There are many fantastic places to eat and drink in Derbyshire and our awards will honour the very best. To recognise the fantastic contribution that cafes and pubs make we’ve introduced two new categories this year and I’m delighted that we’ve had such a great response from cafes and pubs across Derbyshire”.
